Surgical Holdings, a British manufacturer and distributor of surgical instruments and services, has announced an exclusive UK distribution partnership for the INSTRUSAFE® Basket Range, specifically designed for Intuitive Surgical’s® da Vinci® robotic-assisted surgical systems.

This partnership brings UK hospitals a clinically validated solution to one of robotic surgery’s greatest challenges: the safe, efficient, and compliant reprocessing of delicate da Vinci® instruments.

As robotic-assisted procedures increase, so does the demand on sterile services. INSTRUSAFE® trays are engineered to safeguard these high-value instruments through every stage of the surgical cycle from decontamination and sterilisation to transport and storage, while improving workflow and turnaround time.

Designed from lightweight aluminium, each tray delivers 360° protection and is tailored to fit specific da Vinci® instruments and scopes.

The range is CE Marked and independently validated providing assurance of compatibility and performance. Approved for use in both steam and low-temperature sterilisation, in either wrap or rigid containers, the trays offer complete flexibility for sterile services teams and is referenced in the Da Vinci reprocessing IFU as a compatible option for reprocessing.

Innovative features such as retractable handles make removal from containers effortless, while the quarter-turn latch system ensures secure closure and precise alignment.

Optional foot configurations – like the TF Foot and R Foot with Rounders® Corner Guards- help prevent wrap tears and maintain the integrity of sterile barriers.

For added efficiency, the XL transport container enables safe point-of-use decontamination with 30 minutes of dedicated soaking space, easing sink congestion and supporting more thorough cleaning.

Dan Coole, Managing Director of Surgical Holdings, commented:
“Robotic surgery is transforming healthcare but it brings increasing pressure to deliver faster, safer instrument reprocessing. Our partnership to distribute INSTRUSAFE® trays represents a significant leap forward for UK hospitals using the da Vinci® system. These trays aren’t just validated, they’re built to raise standards across the entire sterilisation process. It’s the kind of innovation both NHS and private hospitals need right now to stay ahead of growing surgical demand and prioritise patient safety.”
