Surgical Holdings to showcase the MOLE QVI at the Endoscope Decontamination Forum

Surgical Holdings is set to showcase the groundbreaking MOLE QVI fiberscope at the upcoming Endoscope Decontamination Forum, taking place on 12 June 2025 at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells.

The MOLE represents a new generation of borescopists, designed to enhance the detection of occult damage, moisture, organic soil, and foreign material inside flexible endoscopes and surgical instruments with small lumens. Proper reprocessing of these instruments is critical to patient safety, and the MOLE offers a simple, effective solution to a task that has traditionally been time-consuming and technically challenging.

By integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and an intuitive software interface, the MOLE streamlines visual inspections and makes routine borescope checks more accessible and efficient. The device’s ultra-flexible fiberscope and powerful imaging capabilities allow users to navigate intricate internal channels without causing damage.

The MOLE’s super small digital image processor (DIP) can connect to any Windows-based computer via USB-C, making it highly portable and adaptable for clinical environments. The system is also capable of recording images and videos linked to the unique device identifier (UDI) of each instrument, supporting traceability and regulatory compliance.

Surgical Holdings will not only be demonstrating this cutting-edge technology but will also provide guidance and tools to help healthcare professionals develop their expertise in Quality Visual Inspection (QVI), supporting the future generation of borescopists.

The event offers a valuable opportunity for healthcare teams to explore how the MOLE can improve inspection processes, support patient safety, and enhance reprocessing standards.
