Surgical Holdings triples the size of its Rigid Endoscopy Repair Workshop

Take a look at our newly redeveloped Rigid Endoscopy Repair Workshop, which has been kitted out with new equipment and extended – making it now three times its original size.

The workshop has also seen a complete refit including modern workbenches and racking to enhance organisation processes.

Also included in the redevelopment project was the installation of a new testing facility, as well as the appointment of a new apprentice and scope technician.

Surgical Holdings’ Rigid Endoscope Repair workshop utilises all the latest technologies in Optical Repair, including laser welding and the latest soldering techniques.

This ensures everything is done to the highest quality third-party scope repair, as highlighted in the MHRA ‘Managing Medical Devices – April 2016’.  The team also build their own fibre bundles in-house, for full refibre of endoscopes.

Jack – Scope Lab Supervisor at Surgical Holdings, said “We are delighted to have developed the repair workshop, extended the floorspace and also employed new staff within the department. It is a very exciting time for Surgical Holdings and the investment into this area highlights just how important endoscope repair is to UK hospitals.”

The Rigid Endoscopy Repair Workshop is ISO 13485 accredited and technicians have been repairing scopes for 25 years.

European parts are used to ensure the longevity of your endoscope repair and all technicians work through a repair report, and calibrated equipment to ensure the endoscope works to its optimum ability.
